WELCOME to The Builders Exchange of Merced and Mariposa. Our memberships consist of general contractors of all types, suppliers, architects, engineers and other construction related businesses.

There is no charge to place plans in the exchange plan room. This free service is offered to help get more qualified bidders for various projects. Out staff can answer routine questions such as bid dates, list of bidders, addendums etc. Plans can be reviewed and take offs made in our plan room. We advertise projects in our weekly newsletter.

Project plans (with overnight & weekend checkout-call to reserve), take-off rooms, weekly newsletter (which includes projects out to bid, pre-bid information, planholders list, request for bids, bid results, notice of completions, mechnic liens, city & county permits, safety topics, and advertisement opportunities), referral service, web-site, annual membership directory, group workers'compensation program with a potential discount for those that qualify, safety seminars, safety material/video rentals and a large format copier.

PLAN ROOM POLICY

It is our policy of the Builders Exchange of Merced & Mariposa to make the plans and specs that we maintain available for use in our plan room during normal working hours. They are available on a first-come, first served basis and may be checked out overnignt by members only. Reservations are highly recommended. Plans and specs may be picked up between 4:00p.m. and 5:00p.m. weekdays and returned between 9:00a.m. and 9:30a.m. the following day. Plans and specs should never be marked on or disfigured. We are allowed the use of plans on the condition that they be returned in good condition.

DIRECTORY

Annually we provide a Membership Directory with each members name, telephone and fax number, addresses, license number as well as an alphabetical and classified listing. Advertisements are available for a small nominal fee. Non-members are also welcome to advertise.

The Golden State Builders Exchange (GSBE) is an association of California's many Professional Builders Exchanges located throughout California. A partnership between State Fund and the exchanges that comprise Golden State Builders Exchanges began in 1952. The main purpose is to provide builders with workers' compensation insurance at a fair price, while helping them reduce on-the-job accidents. Members of the workers' compensation program receive an additional discount on all construction classifications per the Califonia Insurance Rating Bureau's list of approved class codes for a "Construction" group. To join you must be a current member in one of the 25 local Builders Exchanges that comprise Golden State Builders Exchange.

This Exchange is also a member of the Contractors Insurance Safety Council (CISC) Group 44 Program. To qualify a company must join or be a current member of one of the 7 local Builders Exchanges that comprise the Contractors Insurance Safety Council.
